What is the Challenge Course?
The Camp Tomah Shinga challenge course offers challenge and excitement in a controlled, safe environment with trained and certified facilitators. A full or half-day rental can consist of a series of three types of elements--initiatives and icebreakers, low elements, and high elements. Each group that goes through the course experiences a unique mix of the different types of elements that best creates an experience that is rewarding to the whole.
Initiatives and Icebreakers Taking place on the ground, these games are "playing with purpose." During this stage of your experience, our trained facilitators will guide your group through a series of games designed to get the people of your group working together. These activites set the tone for the supportive and non-competitive atmosphere that will be fostered throughout the experience.
Low Elements Spaced throughout one of Tomah Shinga's nature trails, participants of the low elements experience challenges and puzzles which are low to the ground level. These elements build confidence and trust within the team.
High Elements Within our philosophy of challenge by choice, participants of the high elements start from the ground level and work to a high element thirty to forty feet off the ground.
